It has been a long time since we last updated this page! Sorry for the late updates, but we're sad to inform you that our former Vice-Chairperson, Jason Leung, who is also our webpage and Facebook Page manager, has already left ERC and joined the Student Union, Vector, as Internal Secretary. So, this page may be inactive until we find a new technician... Sad to say this, but we're not sure will we be able to do so (lol)! Anyway, hope to see you here again!

Our first ever event was successfully held in our academy in Karl Hall today! The revision activities for our S1 activities to prepare for their next English dictation was held smoothly and students enjoyed the day. Thank you all for your support and love, please continue to support us!

All activities in this academic year were over already, thank you very much for your support! However, please also be noticed that the executive committee will be taken over by our new S.2 trainees soon, so in order to train our future committee and prepare for the exam, English Corner is now closed to students. You will see us again in October with new faces serving you here. We will announce the new committee in September, so stay tuned!

Finally, examination comes to an end. While you are relazing yourself, our technicians have already updated the design of our homepage and a lot of things. Our hardware technician is also working hard to repair the equipments. We will reopen on January 7, which is the first Monday after the vacation. Enjoy your holiday. The Public Speaking Contest is going to start on Monday (29/10)! Those who have joined our workshops before should now begin to prepare your speech and try to do your best in the competition. This is a great chance for challenging yourself and improve your confidence.

You don't have to wait til 31/10 to visit EC again as we are borrowing S.2D's classroom on Friday for an activity. We're going to hold a simple activity in the classroom, and we're not using the whole classroom. 2D students can still use their classroom as usual but we'll use part of the classroom for EC temporarily. We're sorry for any inconvenience caused by this and we apologize to those 2D students who might be annoyed by us. This is just a temporary arrangement and we will open EC in Karl Hall on 31/10. So please remember to visit 2D classroom on the 3rd floor for an mysterious activity on Friday!

The Public Speaking Contest by the English Society is coming soon! As English Corner is a branch of the English Society, we are holding a workshop for junior form students. The workshop aims at improving students' speaking skills and improve their confidence. The Public Speaking Workshop 2 will be held tomorrow during lunchtime. We hope all of you can attend and have fun! This workshop is hosted by Ms. Wong. We encourage you to join the Public Speaking Contest as a practice, and this will highly improve your confidence and English skills.
No matter you are joining or not, come and have fun tomorrow! See you in EC :)

The Tumbling Tower Competition today was a great event, however some of our blocks are lost, luckily some volunteers helped us to find the blocks. We hope you guys can tidy up the things after you play. Be a responsible student! ;)

As we see some of the students come to English Corner only for the computers, we encourage you to take part in our activities instead of just sitting in front the computers. Get coupons and exchange those gorgeous stuffs!

We are now opening at 13:05, 5 minutes earlier than before, which means you have more time to play here! Our technician has already repaired the computers and you can now use them! However the computers are outdated so, we are sorry that the speed of the computers might be very slow occasionally, but we still hope you can have a great experience here. FYI, Ms Wong has finished grading all the submissions and the results are out! You can come and see the results on Monday!

Thank you all for coming to our competition today! Today's song was chosen by our chairman, and it is great to see students trying so hard to complete their work. To those who don't speak Cantonese, we are very sorry that we can't find a song that suits you, but you are welcome to choose your own song and submit the work. Ms. Wong is now grading the submissions and the results will be announced on Monday. Participants please come and see the results! There are two winners in this competition and they will each get 2 EC coupons.

Tomorrow is competition day! We are introducing the Lyrics Translation Competition. In this competition, our chairman will choose one of the most popular Cantonese song and you are required to translate them into English (Of course you are not allowed to use the computers or your phone :D). The winners chosen by Ms Wong will get coupons as reward. The best work will be posted around the campus and also Facebook! This is a great chance for you to show the quality of your vocabulary bank and to stand out from the crowd. We're waiting for your submission. So, for the coupons or for yourself, give a chance to yourself and come tomorrow during lunchtime at 13:00!

Our screen has been fixed. However, one of our computers is currently damaged and is out of order. We're now waiting for our technician, so during this period please use the other 2 computers. Thank you for your cooperation. We're sorry that the audio output of the DVD player is out of order which caused us unable to play sound for the movie. We're going to replay the movie soon after we've fixed our technical problems.
